An Ode to Allama Iqbal
دل سے جو بات نکلتی ہے اثر رکھتی ہے
(Dil se jo baat nikalti hai asar rakhti hai)
پر نہیں طاقت پرواز مگر رکھتی ہے
(Par nahi taqat parwaz magar rakhti hai)
ہو نہ یہ پھول تو بلبل کا ترنم بھی نہ ہو
(Ho na ye phool to bulbul ka tarnum bhi na ho)
چمن دہر میں کلیوں کا تبسم بھی نہ ہو
(Chaman dehr mein kalyon ka tabsum bhi na ho)
Translation:
What comes from the heart leaves a lasting impression,
Yet, the power to soar may be lacking, but it holds a connection.
Though it lacks the strength to take flight,
It still carries the essence of its might.
Without these flowers, the nightingale's melody would fade,
In the garden of life, no buds' smiles would cascade.
In the world’s garden, no smile of buds would grow,
For without the bloom, the beauty would not flow.
