An Ode to Nida Fazli

نزدیکیوں میں دور کا منظر تلاش کر
(Nazdeekiyon mein door ka manzar talaash kar)

جو ہاتھ میں نہیں ہے وہ پتھر تلاش کر
(Jo haath mein nahin hai, woh pathar talaash kar)

سورج کے ارد گرد بھٹکنے سے فائدہ
(Sooraj ke ird gird bhatakne se faida?)

دریا ہوا ہے گم تو سمندر تلاش کر
(Darya hua hai gum to samandar talaash kar)

Translation:
In what’s near, seek the vision that feels far.
Search for the stone you don’t yet hold in your hand.

What’s the point of circling the sun in confusion…
If the river is lost, then seek the ocean instead.
