دھڑکن سا کوئی دل میں سوا بول رہا ہے
(Dharkan sa koi dil mein sawa bol raha hai)
اس ساز میں خود نغمہ سرا بول رہا ہے
(Iss saaz mein khud naghma sara bol raha hai)
کھلتا ہی نہیں تیرا طلسم لب و لہجہ
(Khulta hi nahin tera tilism lab-o-lehja)
کیا جانیے خاموش ہے یا بول رہا ہے
(Kya janiye khamosh hai ya bol raha hai)
یہ لفظ کہ چڑھ کر ہوا تھا گنگ زباں پر
(Yeh lafz ke charh kar hawa tha gang zuban par)
کاغذ پر اتارا ہے تو کیا بول رہا ہے
(Kaaghaz par utara hai to kya bol raha hai)
یہ وہ ہی پرندہ ہے کہ سادھے ہوئے چپ تھا
(Yeh wohi parinda hai ke saadhay huye chup tha)
اس طرح جو اب ہو کے رہا بول رہا ہے
(Iss tarah jo ab ho ke raha bol raha hai)
شوکتؔ ہے پیاپے جو رواں قافلہ دم کا
(Shaukat hai piyape jo rawan qafila dam ka)
دل صورت آواز درا بول رہا ہے
(Dil soorat awaaz dara bol raha hai)
Translation:
A voice whispers within my heart's beat,
An instrument playing its own sweet treat.
Your magic hides in speech and tone,
Is it silent or speaking, it's unknown.
Words, like wind, once took flight,
On paper, they now come to light.
A bird, once quiet, now finds its voice,
Speaking freely, making its choice.
Shaukat is a traveler with a breath's sway,
Heart as a canvas, and voice as the way,
Expressing emotions, and thoughts untold,
In simple words, a story unfolds.
